Deborah M. Ontiveros, L.P.C., CEAP, PHR —
Ms. Ontiveros has specialized in EAP counseling and program management for over 10 years.

Ms. Ontiveros is the Owner/Clinical Director of Integrity EAP. Ms. Ontiveros is licensed as a Professional Counselor (L.P.C.). Ms. Ontiveros is a Certified Employee Assistance Professional (CEAP) and is a certified Professional of Human Resources (PHR). The CEAP credential requires 4000 hours of specialized training beyond that which is required for licensure as a master's level counselor. Applicants must pass the national certifying exam after completing their training. The PHR certification requires 2 years of HR related experience at the exempt level and a national exam. Ms. Ontiveros is the only EAP professional in this region to hold certification in both specialties. Ms. Ontiveros has trained with the American Red Cross to respond to disaster, and has completed both levels I and II of the Critical Incident Stress Management training of the International Critical Incident Stress Management Foundation. Ms. Ontiveros is certified to provide Substance Abuse Professional services in compliance with U.S. Department of Transportation regulations CFR 40. Ms. Ontiveros currently provides services for over forty contracts with covered lives in the West Texas/Southern New Mexico region.

Lupe Castaneda, LMSW-ACP —
Ms. Castaneda is a Licensed Master Social Worker - Advanced Clinical Practitioner. Ms. Castaneda has extensive experience with family and child counseling issues. Ms. Castaneda is also an expert in the area of organizational interventions. Ms. Castaneda worked for many years at the Senior Human Resource level for Levi-Strauss. She has had the pleasure of two gubernatorial appointments (Governors Richards and Bush). Ms. Castaneda has provided organizations services at the international level and has managed work groups of as many as 700 employees. Ms. Ornelas has demonstrated personal experience with lasting change and so is a member of the National Weight Control Registry at the Colorado Health Science Center. Ready, but Not Able

Have you seen the word "presenteeism" in newsprint and journals? The word (it's not in dictionaries) describes the syndrome of showing up for work even if you are too sick, or too stressed and distracted to be productive. Being at work because you are too worried or concerned about your job to stay away, even though you are too ill or troubled to be effective is a serious problem. It can lead to burnout or a health crisis. Talk to the EAP if you are struggling with presenteeism.
